G7 Japan 2016 Ise-Shima

The 42nd Group of Seven (G7) Summit (the G7 Japan 2016 Ise-Shima) was held in Ise-Shima on May 26 and 27.
This G7 Japan 2016 Ise-Shima was the sixth time Japan has hosted a G7 Summit. The Summit is scheduled to be held in Sicily, Italy next year. Hoso Service Center planned and operated the five-language simultaneous interpretation system (English, French, German, Italian and Japanese) at the Summit Meeting; the nine-language simultaneous interpretation system, which featured an additional four languages, at the Outreach Meeting; and operated the five-language simultaneous interpretation system (Japanese, English, German, French and Italian) for the Press Conference by the Chair of the Summit.

Additionally, Hoso Service Center planned and operated the audio and simultaneous interpretation systems for President Barack Obama’s visit to Hiroshima.

2012 Annual Meetings IMF/World Bank Group

From October 9 to 16, 2012, finance ministers and central bank governors from 188 member countries took part in the 2012 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group held in Tokyo and Sendai. More than 200 related events were organized, including the Annual Meetings Plenary, committee meetings, seminar programs, workshops, lectures, and press briefings. Discussions focused on the challenges facing the global economy, while the Sendai Dialogue, held in Sendai, one of the disaster-stricken areas, included meetings on disaster mitigation and development.

Hoso Service Center, Inc. was responsible for planning and operating the conference’s simultaneous interpreting system (covering up to 10 languages) and conference audio system. This included managing systems, equipment and staff at the Tokyo International Forum (20 venues including 800 conference microphones and 12,000 receivers), the Imperial Hotel (20 venues) and Hotel Okura Tokyo (6 venues). Our expertise and hard work on this occasion helped contribute to the success of one of the world’s largest international conferences.

We were in charge of the simultaneous interpreting system & audio-visual operations of the Summit meeting and ministerial meetings.

During the G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit of 2008, 12 meetings were held and a Media Center was operated. We were in charge of the Simultaneous Interpreting System & Audio-visual Operations of not only the Summit/Media Center, but also of the 11 meetings.
